Muir Construction were delighted to work with Buccleuch Property to negotiated the construction contract for the new Danfoss Low Carbon Innovation Centre at Shawfair . The new building, which is aiming to be carbon neutral in operation, will be the global centre of research and development and manufacturing for two key technologies on the path to net zero. It will be home to Danfoss Editron , a division that develop electric and hybrid powertrain systems for heavy duty vehicles. It will also be home to a technology conceived at the University of Edinburgh which radically reduce energy consumption in hydraulic machines , called digital displacement. The excavator pictured will be exposed to real life testing on site at Shawfair in collaboration with the Muir team.
